For far too long the absence of our gente both in front of the camera and behind has been tolerated and accepted. That ends with our generation. As with most communities it takes a group of loved ones, respected individuals and those ‘in the know’ to support their own. It is with this idea that LEJA was formed. Who better to amplify and make known the stories of our community than the journalists that come from the community.
Founded in 2018 by Clayton Davis, Toni Gonzales, Kiko Martinez and Niki Cruz, LEJA formed and immediately began by gathering other accomplished and respected entertainment journalists.
Today we remain invigorated, motivated and determined to echo the successes as well as the trials and tribulations that exist within our Hollywood entertainment community.
Our membership is made up of members from paramount national publications like Variety, Deadline and EW to smaller regional outlets in our backyards. We cover Latino identifying creatives in film and television by those who identify as such. The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association and their members can be found at film festivals, red carpets or moderating panels dedicated to Latinos in entertainment. We are in junket rooms, press rooms and roundtables. If you want deep, comprehensive stories on entertainment that goes far past the box office that resonate with our Latino brothers and sisters, then you've found it.
