Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Francisco Cangiano’s interest in film began at an early age thanks to his parents and movies such as Star Wars, Superman, Back to the Future, Jaws and The Goonies. After studying marketing, journalism and film, he graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio in 2005. After writing for several U.S. based movie blogs, Francisco decided to create the Puerto Rican website CineXpress in 2011. Since then Francisco has worked as film and tv critic, entertainment journalist and commentator for top local newspaper El Vocero, top local TV shows like Ahora Es on Univision PR, Primetime on ABC Puerto Rico, Todo Tampa Bay in Florida, and top local radio stations Fidelity 95.7 FM, Hot 102. FM, SalSoul 99.1 FM and Zol 97.1 FM. A member of Critics Choice Association (CCA) and the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS), and the first Puerto Rico based critic to be certified by Rotten Tomatoes, Francisco has also had the opportunity to cover multiple press junkets and interview actors, directors, and behind-the-scenes talent from around the world, as well as cover prestigious film festivals. Now, with more than 20 years of experience, cinema continues to be his biggest passion.
