For over 30 years Joe Friar has broadcast over the Texas airwaves on several formats including Alternative Rock, Country, Adult Contemporary, and Top 40/CHR where he currently hosts the morning radio show The Breakfast Buzz on 104.7 KVIC. He also serves as Program and Music Director for the top-rated station. You can count on the latest movie news, reviews, and interviews weekly on his radio show. Joe currently writes for the online publication The Fort Worth Report covering the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and his former outlet The Victoria Advocate features hundreds of his archived reviews available to read online. Joe is also the Vice President of the Houston Film Critics Society (HFCS) and a strong supporter of art-house cinemas, indie, and foreign films. His favorite film of all time is “Jaws” which he viewed in a theater 32 times at the age of 11. He also got into an argument with a theater manager a year later when they wouldn’t let him in to see “All The Presidents Men” because of its R-rating. He emerged victorious after forcing the manager to escort him outside to point out the poster had a PG-rating.
