Clayton Davis, Variety’s Senior Awards Editor, embarked on his journey with the prestigious Hollywood publication in September 2020. Beyond his role in forecasting upcoming Oscars, Emmys and other awards ceremonies, Davis is a two-time Emmy-nominated host of PBS’ “Variety Studio: Actors on Actors.” He also co-hosts the award-winning “Variety Awards Circuit Podcast.” An acclaimed journalist, Davis received the Excellence in Entertainment Journalism Award from NALIP in 2021 and was named one of the Imagen Foundation’s Influential Latinos in Media in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He earned a 2022 Telly Award for co-programming and executive producing the Critics Choice’s Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television and a Webby Award in the General Video category for events and live streams as one of the hosts for Variety’s Power of Women 2022. He’s also been nominated for multiple news publication awards, including Online Journalist of the Year by the L.A. Press Club. With over 15 years of experience as an analyst, media, film, and television critic, Davis has been featured in various publications and platforms. He has contributed to ABC’s Live Oscars Pre-Show since 2020. Davis is also a board member of the Critics Choice Association, for which he co-programmed the inaugural Celebration of Latino Cinema. An active member of the Television Academy, BAFTA, and several other industry groups, Davis founded the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association. Born and raised in New York and New Jersey, he resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. Davis is a passionate advocate for Autism Awareness.
